With Thanks from YORKSHIRE AIR AMBULANCE to BFA Members

On Wednesday the 24th of May at the Town Bar, Queensgate the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the NHS Ambulance Service came and gave talks to our Members at the BFA Monthly Social.

Following the talks, a collection was made for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) who is an independent charity and receives no direct government funding.

BFA have received a wonderful letter of thanks from YAA who stated:
“Your Donation really is a life saver. It helps us provide a rapid response emergency service to 5 million people. On average our crews respond to around 1,700 incidents each year, that’s nearly 5 missions a day across Yorkshire”.

BFA Members donated: £118.57

Yorkshire Air Ambulance said:
“Thanks to generous donations like yours we now have plans to improve our service by expanding our fleet to a 3rd helicopter to act as cover for when one of our two helicopters are down for maintenance….Your donation is so important to us, our patients and the people of Yorkshire”.

The BFA Management Committee would also like to say a big thank you to YAA and the NHS Ambulance Service for attending and to all BFA Members who attended and donated to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

The NHS Ambulance Service will be attending again later in the year with training equipment and are happy to show any interested Members some Basic First Aid and Life Saving Techniques.
